Centara Grand Maldives marks World Oceans Day
The luxurious resort Centara Grand Maldives marks World Oceans Day. The holiday resort and their staff members, along with holiday guests joined together for an event to commemorate the world Oceans day by cleaning the turquoise lagoon and reef garden around the pristine island.
Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa complied with this year’s theme which is ‘Healthy Oceans. Healthy Planet’ to honor the United Nations recognized day of Ocean preservation, conservation and raising awareness which is held every year on the 8th of June. While people all over the planet organized different events to celebrate and support the action to protect our vast blue ocean, several Maldives resorts such as Centara Grand participated and held events as well.
The luxury resort in the tropical paradise Maldives, Centara Grand is a pure island that always had a strong policy on environmental protection and became the first ever resort situated in South Ari Atoll to receive Green Fins Certification. This year, the resort cleaned out plastic trash and any other debris that was trapped in the coral reefs surrounding the tropical island. The resort abided by the Theme of World Oceans Day and put their best effort to stop plastic pollution.
Moreover, the private island resort had a program of growing corals which was designed to rehabilitate the areas of the reef garden where coral growth had stopped. The program promoted the growth of new corals around the area.
Centara Grand Island Resort & Spa is an island paradise that provides their guests a barefoot luxury experience, surrounded by pristine nature and crystal clear waters that are protected for harm and preserved as much as possible.
